JasperSleep collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking — and no server anywhere in the app.
Data we collect
None. The developer has no server and no database, and receives no information about you, your device, your home or your baby.
The microphone and the audio
On the phone you place in the nursery, the app listens to the room in order to decide whether the loudness has stayed above your threshold for long enough to raise the alarm. That analysis happens entirely on that device.
Audio is streamed only to your other phone, only over your own local network, and only while an alarm is active or you explicitly ask to listen in. It is encrypted using the pairing code the two phones share. The audio is not recorded, not stored, and never sent to the internet or to the developer. There is no cloud component to send it to.
The connection between the two phones
The phones discover each other on the local network you are both on and connect directly to one another. No relay, no account, no third-party service is involved. Traffic between them carries the audio, your alarm settings, and listen-in requests, all encrypted with your pairing code.
Data stored on your device
The app saves your settings — loudness threshold, how long the crying must last, alarm behaviour, and the pairing with your other phone — in its own private storage area. This stays on the device and is removed when you delete the app.
Tracking
JasperSleep does not track you. It does not use the Advertising Identifier, does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Permissions
- Microphone — on the nursery phone, to hear the room. This is what the app is for.
- Local network — so the two phones can find each other and connect directly.
- Notifications — so the alarm can reach you when the app is not in the foreground.
The app does not use location, the camera, contacts, photos, health data or motion data.
Children
The app is operated by parents, not by children, and collects no data about anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes what the app stores or transmits, this policy will be updated before that version is released and the effective date above will change.
